On June 19th Jayaraj (59) and his son Emmanuel Fennix (31) were arrested for violating lockdown norms over business hours of their mobile shop.
After 2 days ,Police remanded them at the kovilpatti sub jail. On June 22th Fennix complained of chest pain and swooned,and he was taken to a government hospital where he succumbed to death. Following his death Father Jayaraj also passed away at 4.30 am on Tuesday.
Many Actors and Actress are raising their voices against this brutality attacks of Police officers. Actress Aishwariya Rajessh tweeted "Sathakulam incident is horrifying.It’s totally inhuman Really not acceptable in delay is injustice " and Actor Jayam Ravi tweeted " No one is above the law, justice must be done for this inhuman act." on their official Twitter handles.
Meanwhile Indian Cricket batsman Shikhar Dhawan also gaved his voice against Sathankulam tragedy.
He tweeted " Horrified to hear about the brutality inflicted upon Jeyaraj & Fenix in Tamil Nadu. We must raise our voice and make sure justice is given to the family " on his Twitter handle. He also mentioned the hashtag " #JusticeForJeyarajAndFenix".
